Stakeholders Digital Divide Roundtable
The aim of this event is to share project results (activities from the toolkit, tools and instruments from the LTTA) and to collect ideas & opinions about becoming active technology users. At the same time, the event strengthen the collaboration with local stakeholders, involving the staff from Adult Education Institutions, VET institutions, Social services and Healthcare services in identification of the relevant tools for adult education.
We had 38 participants aged between 20 and 60. They came from local partner organisations supporting digital education actions, learners, students and teachers that are in a continuous process of digitisation. Participation by gender was well distributed and they socialised in an intergenerational way and were encouraged to interact with each other regardless of age group.
On 22 October 2022, the welcome of participants began at 2.45 pm. The organising team directed participants to sign the attendance list and distributed Erasmus+ registered promotional materials.
The event took place at the Maritime University of Constanta and had the intention to open the horizons of the participants towards what education through digital methods means, organizing brainstorming sessions through which we could identify together the real needs presented by the stakeholders. After the reception of guests, between 15.00 and 15.30, Nicoleta Acomi from RIA presented the Erasmus+ programme and the initiatives of the Stop Digital Divide project, defining the need of introducing new digital tools in education. She presented the three roles that learners can play in the learning dynamic: passive, interactive and creative and give the participants digital tools such as Thinglink, Menti, Kahoot and Jamboard for the K.I.S.S. method.
The participants did not hesitate to respond and present their position on the introduction of digital elements in adult education. Some of them are already using digital elements while teaching and have noticed positive results from learners, becoming more and more engaged.
During the event, participants shared their own expertize both verbally and in writing, after receiving the round table questions from the organisers. They were encouraged to create a constructive dialogue and shared best practices from their extensive experience in the field of education.
Following the event, the opinions and practices shared during the discussion will be integrated into a digital education course for adult educators.
