Captain on the Ship of the Future Competion

On 11th April 2025, RIA participated in the educational competition “Captain on the Ship of the Future”, organized at Constanța Maritime University. The event brought together high school pupils and university students, offering them a valuable opportunity to explore the university’s advanced maritime simulators and gain insight into modern navigation practices.

During the event, participants took part in hands-on navigation exercises and practical training sessions within a realistic maritime learning environment. These activities allowed students to better understand the responsibilities of a ship’s captain, as well as the importance of technical skills, decision-making, and teamwork in maritime operations.

At the end of the competition, all participants completed a short knowledge test focused on navigation and maritime safety. The participant who achieved the highest score was awarded the title and prize “Captain on the Ship of the Future”, recognizing excellence in maritime knowledge and practical understanding.

This initiative highlighted RIA ’s strong commitment to supporting maritime education and promoting young people’s interest in careers in navigation. By engaging students through interactive learning and practical experience, the event contributed to raising awareness of professional opportunities within the maritime sector and encouraging the next generation of maritime professionals.
