CIPROC PROJECT
CIPROC is a project that focuses on the development and promotion of Short Sea Shipping (SSS) Promotion Centers and the extension of SSS services to intermodal transport. This project is financed by the European Commission through the FP 7 Programme and lasts for six months. The main objective of the project is to encourage the development of intermodal transport services and to overcome the bottlenecks that impede the efficient transport of goods.
Brochure
One of the key activities of the CIPROC project is the development of a general brochure on intermodal transport (IMT). The brochure aims to provide relevant information about the benefits of IMT, the different types of IMT, and the challenges involved in IMT. This brochure is an important tool for raising awareness about the potential of IMT and for promoting the use of intermodal transport services.
Newsletters
Another important activity of the CIPROC project is the extension of newsletters. These newsletters are distributed to stakeholders in the transport and shipping industry and provide information on the latest developments in intermodal transport, as well as updates on the progress of the project. This is a great way to keep stakeholders informed and engaged in the project, and to encourage collaboration and cooperation.
Database
The CIPROC project also involves the establishment and maintenance of a database on IMT services. This database includes information on Romanian transporters, operators, and freight forwarders who provide maritime, road, railway, and river logistics services. This database is an important resource for stakeholders in the transport and shipping industry who are looking for reliable and efficient intermodal transport services.

Despite the significant progress made by the CIPROC project, there are still some bottlenecks that need to be addressed. These include the lack of involvement from the industry, reluctance to take initiative and change, and the lack of cooperation between the parties involved in the transport chain. However, with continued efforts and collaboration between all stakeholders, the CIPROC project has the potential to improve the efficiency and sustainability of intermodal transport services in Europe and beyond.
